Hi Deana:

My first question is when are you coming to Toronto? I just went to see your brother Ricci and both my wife and myself really enjoyed it. He was so great and signed anything we wanted. We also got a few pictures of him and us. I’m a huge fan of you and your dad too. Where can I get a copy of any CDs or movies you have out, and how can I get an autograph of yours. We look forward to hearing from you soon.

All the best. We really loved your dad!!
Eddie

Hi Eddie,

I have been asked to perform in Toronto in 2006. I will post the date on my website as soon as the tour is set. The new CD will be released in March of 2006 and my movies are always available on numerous web sites such as Amazon.

Deana

Dear Deeeeeeena:

As you can tell, I’ve read your book! My question is not really a question, rather a note to let you know how our life has been touched. My father, Olen, also a very handsome man with big, handsome hands passed away at Christmas in 2002. My heart aches and I cry almost daily. Our son Nate who is 14 has listened to Dean Martin with my mom and dad since infancy. They were very close. When my father died he had very little to leave us but he left his Dean Martin CD's to our son and I got his drivers license which I would not take a million dollars for. There are no words to express the emotions as we watch our Dean Martin shows, the roasts and listen to his music. In the 5th grade Nate had to write a paper about a famous Ohioan. Most kids chose famous athletes or hip-hop singers or astronauts. Nate chose Dean Martin. His teacher said Nate you need to work on your report. He said, "I already know it all". She said well then maybe you'd like to study his music, he said I know it all. She said then perhaps you'd like to sing a song - he stood up and sang "standing on the corner" and asked if she'd like another? He continued to sing "Houston" and told of the coke bottle and the knife tapping on it making the unique sound and he finished with "Volare". It was a day to behold! He listens to his CD player as loud as he can - not with AC/DC or Led Zeppelin but Dean Martin. For his 16th birthday, I am having a Dean Martin party - complete with music, golf clubs and most importantly a Dean Martin impersonator with a pinky ring!
Thank you for sharing your life with all of us. It is my hope to meet you someday and to introduce you to our son Nate - a true Dino fan.

Charles & Julie

Hi Charles & Julie,

I look forward to meeting Nate and his wonderful parents.

Deana

Hello Deana,

Can you give me the next date of the Dean Martin festival in Steubenville, in June 06? My sister Natalie and I would like to come for the festival in Ohio.
Thank you for your marvelous book you wrote about your unforgettable father. I just finished the book and it was magic. Thanks for your answer and sorry for the mistakes I might have done, I’m French and my English is not perfect. I hope to have an answer however.

Kisses from France.
Laurence and Natalie

Hi Laurence and Natalie,

Your English is terrific and I look forward to meeting you both. The 2006 Dean Martin Festival information will be posted at: deanmartinsteubenville.com/. I believe it will be Jun 16.17 & 18.

Deana

Hi Deana,

I just recently bought a best of celebrity roasts with Dean - there is one for Michael Landon and when Guy Marks comes on as a producer, it just makes me laugh so hard! I really enjoy it. Do you know what he is saying in Italian that makes Dean laugh so hard? (It’s about no towels in the men’s room)

Donna

Dear Deana,

About 5 years ago I started taking voice lessons. I started a little late, as I am now 49. My teacher was teaching me the classical way and I was doing fine even though it was all in Italian and I didn't understand a word. At work we have a chorale and we perform twice a year for the employees and anyone who wants to listen and it's free. We just love to sing. We can do solos and this past June I performed "Ain't That A Kick In The Head". I bought a Dean Martin songbook and I love this type of music. I have some CD's and they are great. The question I have is I am looking for sheet music and can't seem to find anything other than the songbook I already have. Can you please help me? If you could point me in the right direction I’d be grateful. I am specifically looking for "I’d Cry Like A Baby" and "Under The Bridges Of Paris"

Sincerely,
Carl Carlson

Hi Carl,

My suggestion is to search the Internet. If anyone else has any other information, please send me an email and I will post it here for Carl.

Deana

Hi Deana!

I have numerous books, movies and biographies on your father. The only thing to complete my collection would be some home movies of your father. I’m sure all Dean Martin fans would love to see them!

Cindy

Hello Deana,

I grew up watching your dad on TV and especially loved his variety show from beginning to end no matter who the guests might be. He was the best. How can I get copies of those shows from beginning to end, not just pieces; or are the tapes of his shows already out there authentic and complete of his parts on the shows. I’d love for my daughter to see these, as did I. She already loves his music, and we both always will.

Sincerely,
Gerry H.

Deana,

Are there any plans to release all seasons of the Dean Martin show on DVD in their entirety? I have a couple of the Dean Martin show DVDs but the edited "best of" format leaves a lot to be desired.

Thanks!
Richard

Hi Deana,

My name is Kylie and I am 15 and live in Australia and I been a big fan of Deans all my life. Dad used to play Brahms Lullaby when I was a baby and I want to thank you for sending me the wonderful get well card from the Festival and Tina was so wonderful to ask you. I love to write to my friends Kimmy, Tina, Susan, Arlene and other Dinopallies about Dean.
I just got told by my dad that Jerry Lewis had a big hit with a record called Rock a Bye Your Baby. Dad had the 78 once. Can I ask you when that song became a hit for Jerry, what did Dean think?
And did Dean ever buy the record. I just can’t imagine Jerry having a hit record. Someday maybe I will hear it

Great big hugs and kisses
From Kylie xxxoooxxx

Hi Kylie,

It’s wonderful to hear from you. Yes, Jerry had a big hit with ‘Rock a Bye Your Baby’ in the 50’s.

Deana

Deana,

Were once engaged to a singer from who was born in Texas. He had little success in the us but moved to the U.K. in the early 60s and had 5 top 10 hits there 1964/65 - 2 of them from a famous stage musical (later filmed). What is his name? It's for a trivia quiz. I hope it's not an intrusion.

Thank you!
Joe

Hello Deana,

When is the Dean Martin day next year so I can book my holiday?

Margaretlena

Hi Margaretlena,

It should be this coming June 16th, 17th and 18th. I look forward to seeing you there.

Deana

Dear Deana,

I enjoyed your book very much; I put the picture of you and I that we took back in February in Miami in it. I recently read Lee Hale's book, behind the scenes at the Dean Martin show, and I must say that it explains the variety show DVD's. How come the DVD's contains clips of shows and not complete shows? Also, are there any plans to release any more live albums by Dean? I bought the 30 hits album with the lake Tahoe concert, but this edition also is not the complete show. Any plans to release more?
Again, thanks for all you do to keep your dad alive for us.

With love,
Alfonso

Hi Deana,

Question: who sang on the advert with your dad for Tropicana orange juice? The song is how do you like your eggs in the morning

Tracy Bowen

Hi Tracy,

It was Helen O'Connell.

Deana

Dear Deana,

Could you please please send me a photo of you? Please. You are so so wonderful. Beautiful, exciting and as I can see it, very very talented. Wishing you much much success in all you do.

Thank you very much.
Gary

Deana

Hi Deana,

I just wanted to say how much I still enjoy your father’s music and movies. I just want to know what part of Italy is your father’s family from. I hope all your family is doing well.

Sincerely,
Anthony Minieri

Hi Anthony,

My Father’s family is from Montesilvano in the province of Pescara.

Deana

Hi Deana;

It was a pleasure to meet you and your husband during the festival. At the high school, I forgot to ask two questions I always wanted to ask. 1, do you have any anecdotes from the time your dad did airport? That was my favorite movie. Second, why aren't some more of his movies released? Such as "Who's been sleeping in my bed?" being a fan of your dad's I can tell you that now is the time to release more of his work; we don't know if the younger generation would enjoy it as much. My son Jordan had a ball at the festival as well. Thanks for the picture he got taken with your husband and with Dennis Farina.

Mauricio

Hi Mauricio,

I t was a pleasure meeting you and Jordan. I will discuss the anecdote question with you at the Festival in June.

Deana

Deana,

I enjoyed this year's festival so much I am putting together a motor coach tour for next year. Could you please let me know what the dates are for 2006?

Cordially,
Helen

Hi Helen,

I am happy you enjoyed the festival and look forward to seeing you again in 2006 and look forward to meeting your bus load of friends.

Deana
