PERFORMING ARTS

An Evening With Deana Martin

'Memories Are Made Of This: Dean Martin, Through His Daughter's Eyes'

Saturday, July 23, 7:00 p.m.

Deana MartinDean Martin, born Dino Paul Crocetti, and internationally known as the "King of Cool," is an Entertainment Icon. For a time he was literally the most successful performer in the world, accomplishing the rare feat of conquering all five facets of the entertainment industry, stage, radio, television, motion pictures and recordings. It is a record that has never been broken. As a young man, he was also a prize-fighter, steel mill laborer, gas station attendant, and black jack dealer, before his success as half of the number one comedy team in history, Martin and Lewis. He stared in 60 movies comprised of both dramatic and comedic roles. He also achieved unprecedented success with the "Dean Martin Show", his television variety series that ran for nearly a decade and was, the longest running number one rated television show. His image as a smooth sophisticated swinger was burnished during his years in Las Vegas as part of the famous Rat Pack, a group of hipsters including Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford and Joey Bishop, who reigned supreme while performing at the Sands Hotel. His musical career has hundreds of recordings both gold and platinum, with another platinum CD being added in the past year. More than that, Dean Martin achieved immortality of the best possible kind. His humor kept us laughing, his music kept us singing and his carefree nature warmed our hearts.

Dean and Deana together. This evening, Deana Martin, an actress, entertainer, and author, draws on her recently released book, 'Memories Are Made of This: Dean Martin Through His Daughter's Eyes', to share wonderful, never-before-told stories about her father and her life as the daughter of one of Hollywood's Superstars. She closes the evening with a musical tribute to Dean Martin. A book signing follows.

February 10, 2003 marks the launch of Deana's first official website; DeanaMartin.com.  After many requests for information regarding her father, her own performing career and many of her exciting upcoming projects, Deana wanted to establish a website in order to keep fans aware of the latest news and make herself available in a public forum to answer the many questions she receives.  Deana thanks you for your support and for your continued interest in the Martin family.
