Swing Street is one of the finest in Deana’s canon of work. Each album sees this artist grow … take more risks … and spread her wings.
There are 15 swingin’ songs on Swing Street packed with all the diversity and elegance you would expect from a woman who is passionate about her music. Deana challenges herself with each project and Swing Street certainly proves that.
In this collection, she once again gathers her A-list of session players, arrangers, composers, conductors, and engineers … the ones who live and breathe this music, and she hands them 15 gems to wrap themselves around.
Swing Street is a sophisticated collection of superb performances. And, while it might not be her motivation, it sure feels like her proud Pop is giving her his inimitable smile and saying, “Ya did good, Kid. Let ‘em have it.”

"I have been listening to your new CD, Swing Street, and want you to know that I think you have found your perfect niche – this CD is wonderful! I have heard you sing your Dad's classics for years, but your interpretation of these swingin' songs really blew me away. I didn't realize you had such a tremendous vocal range and I hope you record a followup CD right away!"

I just finished listening to Deana Martin’s fabulous new CD “Swing Street” and … it’s good news for people who like great music. John Griffeth produced this first-class project. He put together a great team. Patrick Williams one of the best arrangers in the world of music, Al Schmitt the best recording engineer and mixer, Ron Mc Master who did the mastering, a great group of musicians, all recorded at the best studio Capitol Records. Deana, on a personal note … I know your dad would be very proud. I am too.

As your long-time Musical Director, I've had the pleasure of working with you, and of watching you evolve into the consummate performer you are today. On this wonderful project, you connected with one of the greatest arrangers of our time, my very dear friend, Mr. Patrick Williams, as well as an orchestra consisting of some of the finest musicians in the world today. The result being, Swing Street, a unique collection, which is certainly worthy of a Grammy. Congratulations on a job very well done ….. so proud of you.

It is such a pleasure to enjoy an artist, such as Deana Martin. Everything Deana presents to her audience is “First Class” And that’s exactly what Deana Martin’s “Swing Street” represents. From the moment you hear the first song, through out the entire CD production, you are enjoying each & every note, executed at the highest level of professionalism. The musicians are the absolute best. The orchestrations are wonderful … & Deana is at the top of her game singing these songs with sheer delight. I highly recommend this CD, to anyone who loves “Swing”. Deana Martin is such a terrific interpreter of this music, with such a love for this genre. I absolutely love the album and you’ve picked so many of my favorite songs, many of which bring back wonderful memories. Your rendition of “Bye Bye Blackbird” is the best I’ve heard. I also loved the arrangements, and the orchestra was sensational. And, of course, you sing like an angel – a sexy angel. I mentioned “Swing Street” in my October Newsletter Nelson website which will come out Monday, and I’m posting on my Facebook page on Saturday. I have lots of Newsletter subscribers and followers on Facebook so I hope that helps get the word out. Plus, of course, I’ll buy a dozen CDs on Amazon for Christmas gifts. Hope you and John are well. All is well here, and Sandy sends her love and regards, and her congrats on the album. She loved it, too. — NELSON DEMILLE |

"It's rare when you listen to a new album and it is everything you hope it would be. "Swing Street" is exactly that! From the song choices, to the production, to the Smooth yet sassy singing, it is easy to see that the apple hasn't fallen far from the tree. Deana Martin always reaches high with the standards she sets, and always gets there. A must listen, if you wanna hear music the way it's supposed to be done. — NEAL MC COY |

Deana Martin has established herself as the “Queen of Cool” singing a selection of great standards in her new CD “Swing Street”. She’s chosen a great mix of classic and contemporary tunes that will put you in a “swingin’ state of mind”!

Another great one from Deana and her fabulous team. Congratulations to all. Great songs (Patrick Williams), great singer, (of course the lovely Deana) great arrangements (again Patrick Williams), great band, great production (John Griffith) and of course the great Al Schmitt & Steve Genewick recording and mixing it. The packaging is also pretty great too. Doesn't get any better than this.

Just opened my copy of Deana Martin’s latest – Swing Street. After wearing out several copies of her past projects, I figured it would be great – just like Destination Moon. However, while ripping off the cellophane on the CD, I noticed a small amount of smoke coming out of the bike on the cover. When I started listening to a few tracks – Strangers in the Night, That’s Life, Georgia on My Mind, Spooky – etc., someone yelled into the music room – “Dick, Deana is really cookin’ with those charts – she’s on fire”. I said “yeah but to me it’s smokin’. (something I gave up years ago). This smokin’ masterpiece is the best! Good for your health! Makes you feel great! Deana with the musicians equates “music is medicine”. Why not open your copy and discover why smokin’ is back in style. — DICK ROBINSON |

Choosing a favorite from this new CD would be hard to do. This review is from: Swing Street (MP3 Music) This lady is one fabulous singer, her style and talent is imprinted on each song. Choosing a favorite from this new CD would be hard to do. I love the "Tennessee Whiskey" with the country sound I like so much, and "Bellissima" with the traditional Italian happy beat I have grown up with and adore… and of course the beautiful and classic "Georgia on my Mind." Each one of these songs entices me to hit replay, so it takes a while to hear the entire CD and "Pallie" that's a good thing. Magnifico! — COOKIE CURCI |

Dean Martin used to say, "I don't want to be remembered as just a singer. I hope everybody thinks of me as an ENTERTAINER." His daughter Deana Martin has learned from her father. She is indeed an entertainer. You can hear it in her voice on her new CD, "Swing Street." She seems to be enjoying herself very much, just as her Dad always got a kick out of himself. This album is a joy, a mixture of old and new ditties, with sensational arrangements by Patrick Williams. Deana's father would be very proud. — LEE HALE |

Today is our Intro Day for the new Deana Martin "Swing Street" cd. It is just terrific and we'll be playing every track between 2 & 6 pm. Kudos to Deana who is in the groove and then some. Patrick Williams has long been one of our favorites, and his song-writing, arrangements and presence on the podium are beyond outstanding. And Chris Walden's contributions are top notch as well. But it's Deana Martin who is out in front, and she delivers everything our WABY listeners could want. She has never sounded better or more engaged. — DAVID ALLLAN |

Thank you for the Swing Street CD. It is remarkable to see so many outstanding musicians accompany a vocalist. It is an excellent album and will be played on both KKJZ and AM 1260 (Unforgettable). It is interesting that we will now have a female vocalist on the air duplicating songs associated with Frank Sinatra. That’s Life, and Strangers In The Night are just two songs that will go head to head with Frank.

Deana Martin is at the top of her game. You continue to provide us with stellar material for our stations. Deana Martin has just recorded what I believe to be her best work to date. Her singing and interpretation is just right on all the tracks in her new album "Swing Street." Patrick Williams has supplied Deana with magnificent and varied accompaniment. The first selection I included on an hour just produced was Deana's version of the Classics IV hit "Spooky." The Williams arrangement, including a little nod to the bass and finger snaps heard on Peggy Lee's "Fever" was developed beautifully by Patrick Williams into something special. "Bye Bye Blackbird" is a kick, along with Billy Joel's "New York State of Mind." Pat Boone owes Deana a thank you for singing his lyrics to "Quando, Quando, Quando." — CHUCK SOUTHCOTT |

Perfect timing for Deana to release "Swing Street". Great cuts, wonderful arrangements, superb singing. This CD is the best to go into Fall with. I have picked five cuts to air so far and more to come. Great job and this CD is special. A HIT! Her dad is proud of her! Please pass my best to Deana. Love this CD! — BOB HAMILTON |

Bringing great music to a hungry audience is exactly what Deana Martin has accomplished on her great new CD "Swing Street". Now is the time for new music from Deana Martin. Once again Deana has recorded within the legendary walls of Capital Studios in Hollywood. She's created a very tasteful collection of tunes. From Patrick Williams great tune "52nd & Broadway" to the Classics IV 60's ballad "Spooky", Deana has the perfect feel for this material. She brings contemporary songs into the jazz & swing style. Bravo for yet another home run for Deana. Besides her amazing talent, Deana is also a tremendous ambassador for big band swing music. She does countless interviews and concerts to keep this music alive. She has accomplished so much on her own, she has moved away from her father's shadow to create her own distinct creative performances. Thank you Deana. You've done it again. And with your always supportive John Griffeth at your side, the future will be swinging'. — JEFF GEHRINGER |

Looks like another top prize for Deana with Swing Street… Everything you would expect and then some! Great selection of songs… a few of her dads hits. And some of the great classics… We are already loving the Billy Joel tune… New York State Of Mind… As always… I would love to have Deana Martin on the show to promote this gem… — WARREN LAWRENCE Brand Manager/Account Executive WKNY Radio – New York www.1490wkny.com |

I have been following her recording of this CD on her Facebook account. Sounds GREAT. Morris Diamond also gave me a heads up about the quality of this release.

Deana does it again! 15 tracks of audio excellence!! Wanna interview Deana ASAP She’s always fun to talk to! — BILL MILLER |

“Swing Street” is already getting rave reviews from pop standards programmers like Saul Levine and Chuck Southcott. What impressed me was Deana and her production crew’s version of ‘New York State of Mind’, which first appeared on Billy Joel’s 1976 album, Turnstiles, where the performance was quintessential Joel— powerful and pensive. Martin’s take replaces Joel’s somber tone with an uplifting feel, without annihilating its depth. No small accomplishment.” — ROLLYE JAMES & CLAUDE HALL |

I just had a wonderful 1/2 hour interview with Deana Martin. She is just a delight to know. It was interesting to hear how Swing Street was born and recorded at the historic Capitol Studios where her dad made history. As always we feature Deana on our shows from her first CD to Swing Street. The Patrick Williams charts are excellent and the mixture of songs a nice change. — GENE MARTIN |

Deana Martin's new "Swing Street" CD has just arrived and, not surprisingly, she hits it out of the musical ballpark! A great collections of time-tested tunes and Deana does justice to each and every one! Arrangements are terrific; orchestration first-class, too! I have recommended the title track, along with "I've Been Around," "Good Things Grow," and "Who's Got The Action," to our radio stations where "Swing Street" would be a good fit. Not only is Deana a wonderful song stylist, but one of the nicest people in show business! Her newest effort is a winner! All the best with it! — STEVE ROSS |

Deana Martin scores again big time with "Swing Street!" A perfect fit for my radio shows on Easy 99.1. Every track is a winner with fabulous arrangements by Patrick Williams and Chris Walden. Deana swings with the best of them and the band cooks too. Thanks again for sending the very best music my way. Cole Porter said it all.."You're the Top!" — RON DELLA CHIESA |

We debuted the album yesterday during a nice Italian lunch I prepared. So well recorded, great songs, such a great performance by Deana and that fantastic band. I am friends with Al Schmitt and he nailed it once again! — RDAVID GOGGIN AKA MR. BONZAI |

Just finished listening to John Griffeth's superbly classy production of Deana Martin’s latest album. The concept of the bass intro's ala-Peggy Lee's FEVER on several of the arrangements, give the set its very own distinguished place…. On the tunes QUANDO QUANDO QUANDO and BELLISSIMA–There's no doubt Deana channeled her magnificently talented daddy's laid back style. To put it all into 4 simple words "LIKE FATHER LIKE DAUGHTER" — L. RUSSELL BROWN |

It is truly fantastic! Deana sounds great! The musicians are outstanding! The writing is superb! And I absolutely love the sound of this recording. I do not think you could have done any better. Congratulations to you both!!!! — MIKE MECHEN |

Just when you thought Big Bands were gone forever, out comes a magnificent CD by Deana Martin. She is backed by 17 first-call musicians from Los Angeles, recorded at Capitol Studios in Hollywood, Ca. The arrangements were written by some of the best arrangers in the country: Patrick Williams, Chris Walden, Rick Krive, Rick Brunetto, Charles Callello and Dave Wolpe. Deana’s voice is smooth and unique in that her style is completely her own. This is truly a great album and “Swing Street” certainly swings. — -DAVE WOLPE |

Thank you and John for this truly lovely album. There should be new words for music appreciation: all the familiar ones do not do justice to this. Hard to pick favorites but as I have always been a ballad lover "Good Things Grow" and "I Know What You Are" top my list. And may I add that I have never been a big fan of Country Western style songs, UNTIL I heard you sing "Tennessee Whiskey". Pure magic. I am sure this album will be very popular, so do whatever you can to get it played. And I say this not as your Aunt, but I am oh so glad that I am. Love forever, — AUNT ANNE AND JOE,TOO |

DG..have been thoroughly blown away listening to "Swing Street." It's immediately evident that these songs are in Deana Martins' DNA and shows her genuine love for the music. The players backing her are superb and the stellar production brings out the best in each and every song. Exceptional choice of material and nearly impossible to pick a favorite but "52nd & Broadway" "I've Been Around" and "New York State Of Mind" are standouts. Also Don..got your package of CD's the other day as well. Many thanks! Hope this project gets the love and exposure it deserves. — DUKE |

Deana Martin was BORN to swing! She grew up surrounded by some of the coolest musicians around, and learned from the best. On this stroll down 'Swing Street' her energy, emotional connection to the material and artistic sensitivity burst though the speakers with songs from sources as diverse as Hoagy Carmichael to the Classics IV. And then she does the impossible: She makes them her own, never missing a beat. She will have you dancing from the opening bars to the closing coda. I’m certain her loving dad is looking down on her with a smile — and a toast — to his little girl.
— RICHARD BARONE |

Deana Martin's new CD, Swing Street, is quite simply a tour de force! The song selection is a reflection of the kind music of Deana has enthusiastically shared with audiences in concert. Spooky; New York State of Mind; That's Life…the lady is in a very definite groove! The arrangements by Patrick Williams and Chris Walden have framed her vocals beautifully. I'd go so far as to say the musical union of Maestro Patrick Williams and the vocal artistry of Deana Martin is reminiscent of the pairing of "Uncle" Frank Sinatra and Nelson Riddle. Bravo, brava!

Dear Deana, Really love your new CD you sent me. I play it in my truck. It's really jazzy and upbeat. Love, — SUSAN MOSS |
